A<\/strong> <\/span>huge public protest against CAB has been going on in different parts of North East. Recently in a sub – division of Assam, in Bokakhat CAB protest took place. Roads blockades are found commonly made by capsizing trees and burning tires, huge CAB protesting processions are arranged by students of JDSG College, Bokakhat, hundreds of tea labourers from Behora, Borchapori, Lakhowjan, Ekorajan and Diffilu tea garden took part in the public protest against CAB.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Strike was called on 12th December by Bokakhat Subdivision Journalists Association witnessing a strong participation of Jitu Sarmah Rajkhowa, President of Assam State Journalists’ Association, President and Secretary of Bokakhat Press Club Bhabananda Kalita and Uttam Saikia successively, Nilu Acharjee, secretary of Bokakhat Subdivision Journalists Association, Sharat Dutta, Principal of CNB College, Bokakhat, Secretary of Electronic Media Journalists Association Pradyut Mahanta, Journalists Achyut Hazarika, Ranjit Rajak, Bidyut Baruah, Mahesh Agrawal, Dhiren Saikia, Amar Sarmah, Pradeep Hazarika, Roman Baruah, Polima Chetia Basumatari, Azanta Talukdar etc successively and distinguished Social Worker Mahaveer P. Agrawal and many a noted persons as such.<\/span><\/p>\n

Effigy of the AGP President Atul Borah was carried to in crematory procession, effigies of Sarbananda Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sharma were set on fire in the wake of protest in various places. It was notable that Bokakhat District AGP President Jagat Kalita has made an open protest against CAB, Central AGP Executive members Jeebeswar Borah and Indreswar Sharma also joined the public gathering protesting against CAB and promised their future cooperation towards the public. A meeting was organized by the Bokakhat Subdivisional Administration and the Bokakhat Police Administration jointly in association with all parties and organizations at Bokakhat Natyamandir wherein resolution was taken to carry on the movement peacefull during day time only and the Sub divisional Administration was requested to take necessary steps in order to normalize the market in the place. <\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting witnessed distinguished personae like SDO, Civil of Bokakhat Vivek Sham, SDPO of Bokakhat Kalyan Das, the Officer In-charge of Police and Magistrates of Bokakhat, various distinguished figures of Bokakhat in the fields of literature, culture, sports etc were present in the meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, again a huge gathering of thousands of people occurred in the heart of the Bokakhat town breaking the Section 144 today. Dharna records the outburst of the hostility of the unified crowd of different organizations like TMPK, Prayas Adhyan Chakra, AASU, AJYCP, JDSG College students and professors, Bokakhat Sahitya Sabha, Bokakhat Senior Citizens’ Organization, Bokakhat Lekhika Samaroh Samiti, Traders’ Association, Bokakhat Jatiya Vidyalay, Bokakhat Mazdoor Sangha, Bokakhat Mahkuma Kabi Sanmilon, Janagosthiyo Oikya Mancha, Mising Sahitya Sabha, Gorkha Sahitya Sabha, Bokakhat Journalists’ Association, Shrimanta Sankardev Sangha, Bokakhat Primary Teachers’ Association, Bokakhat Pensioners’ Association, many students and teachers and various organizations etc in the “Bokakhat Garjan” gathering today.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
