T<\/span>he Karbi Anglong police have achieved significant success in the Purana Lahorijan area along the Assam-Nagaland<\/a> border, capturing two suppliers with illegal firearms and live ammunition. The national highways passing through Karbi Anglong district have been used innovatively for the illegal transport of drugs, narcotic tablets, cannabis, morphine, Burmese items, and firearms to various locations. Although the police occasionally manage to arrest these criminals, the offenders continue their illicit trade by constantly adopting new strategies.<\/p>\n Today, the police at the Dilai Police station within the Assam-Nagaland border area, specifically from Purana Lahabijan, continued their routine checkpoint search operation and successfully recovered several firearms along with a significant amount of active ammunition.<\/p>\n According to police sources, during the search of a luxury Ford vehicle with the registration number WB-02-AAS-1421, which was coming from the direction of Dimapur, the police found 7 nine mm pistols, one revolver, 8 magazines, 407 rounds of nine mm bullets, and 94 rounds of .32 caliber bullets from a hidden chamber in the luxurious vehicle.<\/p>\n Sanjib Saikia, the Superintendent of Police for Karbi Anglong District, announced that based on confidential information from the Special Task Force (STF), they were able to seize weapons and arrest two suppliers today. The police have detained two youths from Manipur, named Sopai Muivah and Mathan Singh Keishing, who were allegedly attempting to illegally transport these seized arms and live ammunition from Dimapur to an undisclosed location in Guwahati. The investigation continues with interrogations.
