At approximately 12:30 am, officers on duty flagged down a Hyundai i20 bearing the registration number AS01BL3350, en route from Dimapur to Diphu. The routine traffic stop quickly escalated into a dramatic drug bust when a search of the vehicle’s boot revealed a substantial cache of illicit substances.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The officers’ keen observations led to the discovery of 58 packets containing heroin and shoe boxes filled with Yaba tablets. The seized contraband included approximately 685.65 grams of heroin and roughly 29,400 Yaba tablets weighing around 3.11 kilograms. This significant haul underscores the persistent threat of drug trafficking in the region and highlights the critical role of diligent law enforcement.<\/span><\/p>\n

In connection with the seizure, two individuals were apprehended. The first suspect, Wasim Akram, aged 22, hails from Lilong Haoreib in Manipur and is the son of Md. Farid Khan. The second arrested individual is Monuj Alom, aged 21, the son of Md. Habibur Rahman. Both men were detained by Jayanta Baruah, an Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) specializing in criminal investigations from Diphu, and Dilip Mili, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ) .<\/span><\/p>\n
