District and Sessions Judge Rouchan Ara Rahman handed down the verdict after nearly four years of legal proceedings. Abdul Jalil from Moritoli, Morigaon District, was sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor. Additional Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge (POCSO), N. A. Ahmed, delivered the verdict under Section 376AB of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), with an additional Rs 20,000 fine. Failure to pay will result in an extra six months of imprisonment.
