According to available information, at around 12:46 PM today, a police team led by Nitul Saikia, the Officer-in-Charge of Khatkhati police station, along with Sub-Inspector Jitumoni Saikia and Assistant Sub-Inspector Pankaj Saikia, conducted a search operation at Karagaon Ranabasti. They stopped a Maruti Express vehicle bearing registration number AS-31-4291, coming from Dimapur. During the search, the police managed to seize 11.080 grams of heroin hidden in a soap box. .<\/span><\/p>\n

The seizure was made in the presence of Bokajan Sub-Divisional Police Officer Rustam Raj Brahma and witnesses. In connection with this incident, the police arrested three traffickers, including a woman. The arrested traffickers have been identified as Sahil Munda, Rohit Roy, and Samsun Nehar.<\/span><\/p>\n

It has been revealed that Sahil Munda, one of the traffickers, was a former chief commander of the indigenous armed insurgent group ‘Apla,’ which had surrendered and joined the mainstream in July of the previous year. Engaging in such illicit drug trafficking activities, this self-proclaimed former rebel leader had also tried to establish himself as a journalist by launching a news portal named IBN 24*7.<\/span><\/p>\n

By marking his vehicle with ‘PRESS,’ he attempted to deceive the police while smuggling drugs. Ultimately, due to the vigilance of the police, this multifaceted drug trafficker, Sahil Munda, was caught in the police net.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
