Kumaraswamy, visited the Bokajan Cement Corporation of India (CCI) on Saturday. Accompanied by a high-profile delegation, including Dr. Numol Mumin, Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, Smti Nirola Phanchopi, District Commissioner, and Shri Mukul Kr. Saikia, Principal Secretary of KAAC, the visit was marked by several key events that underscored the government’s commitment to regional development.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy’s Visit to Bokajan in Karbi Anglong District<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Shri Kumaraswamy began his visit with an inspection of the Community Health Centre, which included a stop at the Apollo Dialysis Centre. During his visit, he interacted warmly with patients and distributed fruits and sweets, fostering a sense of community and care. This gesture was well-received by the patients and staff alike, highlighting the Union Minister’s dedication to public welfare.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Union Minister then attended a public meeting where he inaugurated the Hot Gas Utilization project in the Raw Mills at the Bokajan Cement Factory. Dr. Numol Mumin welcomed Shri Kumaraswamy and emphasized the urgent need to upgrade the Bokajan Cement Factory, implement pollution control measures, and improve the infrastructure at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bokajan. This public meeting served as a platform for discussing the pressing issues facing the region.

Shri Sanjay Verma, CMD of CCI, detailed a phased plan to upgrade the factory’s industrial equipment over the next three years to enhance its competitiveness. He also stressed the importance of employing local labor to mitigate regional unemployment. This strategic plan aims to rejuvenate the factory and significantly contribute to the local economy.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a landmark event, Shri Kumaraswamy participated in the foundation laying ceremony of a 1 MWp Grid Connected Solar PV Plant near the Bokajan Cement Factory Colony. This project aligns with India’s renewable energy goals and promises to provide sustainable energy solutions for the region.

During this meeting, Shri Elwin Teron, Chief Advisor of KAAC, submitted a memorandum highlighting the minimal royalties received by KAAC from CCI despite significant annual expenditures. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"He also pointed out the district’s untapped natural resources and urged CCI to expand its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to focus on reducing unemployment and promoting skill development.<\/span>Responding to the concerns raised, Shri Kumaraswamy assured that the memorandum would be thoroughly reviewed in consultation with CCI. <\/span><\/p>\n

He reiterated his commitment to the development of Bokajan, promising that the region’s potential would be harnessed for the benefit of its residents.
