The attack reportedly took place on Saturday night in Mari Puthikhaiti village, targeting the vehicle of BJP MLA Jitu Goswami post-campaigning. Fortunately, no injuries resulted from the alleged gunfire. The BJP has insisted that the shot emanated from a Congress supporter\u2019s residence.<\/span><\/p>\n

In response, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, led by President Bhupen Kumar Borah, denied the charges and criticized the BJP government for disturbing Assam\u2019s democratic environment and attempting to seize power. He accused a group of BJP activists of assaulting Congress supporters and candidate Tanzil Hussain earlier, suggesting the BJP is manipulating state resources to secure an electoral win.<\/span><\/p>\n
