The delegation urged the government to expedite this process and consider a general amnesty for heinous cases, referencing the existing Peace Accord.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Another pressing issue was the detention of former NDFB leaders like Ranjan Daimari, whose appeal for interim bail is set for a Supreme Court decision on November 20, 2024. The group emphasized that releasing these leaders on bail could foster regional peace and harmony.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The delegation also highlighted the need for a special recruitment drive for Bodo youths, under Clause 10.2 of the Accord, to bolster their representation in the Indian Army, paramilitary, and state police forces. They requested government job reservations for the families of martyrs in lower-grade positions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In alignment with Clause 9.2, the meeting also broached the topic of rehabilitation and economic support for NDFB cadres. Proposed measures included ex-gratia payments, funding for economic ventures like fisheries and organic farming, vocational training, and public sector employment opportunities. The transfer of legal proceedings for imprisoned former NDFB members to Assam courts was also suggested to expedite trials.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">This meeting with A.K. Mishra exemplifies the association\u2019s dedication to the BTR Accord\u2019s effective implementation.
