Under the leadership of Superintendent Mihin Gambo, the operation resulted in the seizure of a significant cache of illegal substances, including 588.42 grams of heroin, 7,042.5 grams of cannabis, 48 grams of Lorazepam, and 233.81 grams of Morphine. Additionally, authorities registered 41 NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) cases and arrested 91 drug peddlers throughout the year.<\/span><\/h5>\n

In 2023, 152 cases of theft and burglary were registered, underscoring the influence of effective policing on reducing associated crimes. Beyond enforcement, the operation included comprehensive awareness campaigns. These efforts, conducted in schools, colleges, and rehabilitation centers, aimed to educate the youth on the risks of drug abuse and fostered a supportive environment for those seeking rehabilitation. As a result, many individuals with addiction issues were encouraged to pursue de-addiction programs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Superintendent Gambo lauded the collaboration between the community and police, acknowledging the crucial role of public support in the campaign\u2019s success. He encouraged continued cooperation as preparations for \u2018Operation Dawn 2.0\u2019 are underway, promising to build on the accomplishments of the past year and further curb the regional drug menace.
