I<\/span>n a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, police in Bokajan apprehended two suppliers on Friday afternoon, seizing a staggering \u20b94 crore worth of opium. The operation, which occurred around 3 PM, unfolded six miles from Old Lahorijan, a region under the jurisdiction of the Dilai Police Station<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n The bust took place during a routine checkpoint inspection on National Highway 29. Officers stopped a truck with the registration number HP20H7866, which was traveling from Dimapur. A thorough search revealed 16 packets of suspected Opium ingeniously concealed in a secret compartment located behind the driver\u2019s seat. The total weight of the confiscated substance amounted to an alarming 16 kilograms and 220 grams.<\/span><\/p>\n The suspects, identified as Sukhindar Singh, the driver from Himachal Pradesh, and Prem Narayan Chamar, the handyman from Madhya Pradesh, were promptly arrested. Police sources indicate that both individuals are believed to be part of a larger network involved in the distribution of illegal drugs across the region. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities seeking to uncover more about the origins and intended destinations of the narcotics.<\/span><\/p>\n This operation was carried out under the leadership of Officer in-charge Akash Gogoi, who coordinated the checkpoint search with a dedicated team from the Dilai Police Station.
