Witnesses reported that the gang arrived around 11:45 PM, riding two motorbikes with their faces concealed by black cloth. They made an effort to breach the main gate, trying to climb over and forcibly open the iron grill using iron rods. Thankfully, their attempts were thwarted as the gate was both securely locked and reinforced.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the time of the attempted break-in, the only occupants inside the house were women, including the groom\u2019s mother and several female relatives. Startled by the commotion, they promptly alerted the wedding party, prompting Pawan and his relatives to return swiftly from Patharquarry in two vehicles.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Dispur Police responded to the scene shortly thereafter, initiating a preliminary investigation into the disruption. However, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Mrinal Deka, attempted to downplay the incident, asserting, \u201cThere was no dacoity attempt. It was just a misunderstanding. A minor altercation occurred between a few individuals.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

This incident follows a concerning trend of local safety issues, reminding residents and authorities alike of the need for vigilance. While investigations are ongoing, the police\u2019s quick response helped to avert what could have escalated into a more serious situation.<\/span><\/p>\n
