A<\/span>ssam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma<\/a>, during his visit to Charuwabakhra in Dhubri district on May 15, criticized the Congress party, asserting that it has lost the support of both Hindus and Muslims. Speaking to the public and media while inspecting the proposed thermal power project site in Chirakuta, he emphasized the Bharatiya Janata Party\u2019s (BJP) recent electoral successes and outlined its strategy for the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) elections.<\/span><\/h4>\n

\u201cIn just a matter of days, Congress has been abandoned by both Hindus and Muslims. In the recent panchayat elections, the BJP secured eight district council seats, even in areas with a 100 percent Muslim population. This indicates a shift towards voting based on development and governance, rather than divisive politics,\u201d CM Sarma stated.<\/span><\/p>\n

He accused the Congress party of consistently threatening to cancel the flagship Orunodoi welfare scheme during Assembly sessions. \u201cWhile we focus on people\u2019s welfare, Congress is busy politicizing these benefits. The public is aware of this,\u201d he remarked.<\/span><\/p>\n

Detailing the BJP\u2019s approach for the BTR polls, CM Sarma declared, \u201cWe will only contest in constituencies where we are confident of victory. We will refrain from participating in areas where we lack strength. Our objective is to win, not just to contest.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In a significant political revelation, the Chief Minister announced that on September 10, the government would disclose detailed information regarding alleged connections between Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi and Pakistan. \u201cWe possess evidence, and we will present it to the public,\u201d claimed Dr. Sarma.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier that day, CM Sarma conducted an on-ground assessment of the land earmarked for a Rs 20,000 crore thermal power project at Chirakuta, under the Chapar revenue circle. This visit marks a crucial advancement in one of Assam\u2019s major energy infrastructure projects.<\/span><\/p>\n
