T<\/span>oday, Dr. Tuliram Ronghang<\/a>, the Chief Executive Member of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, along with several student and youth organizations\u2014including the Karbi Students\u2019 Association (KSA), Joint Action Committee for Autonomous State (JACAS), Karbi Youth Association (KYA), Karbi Farmers Association (KFA), Karbi Unemployed Youth Association (KUYA), Karbi Students\u2019 & Youth Council (KSYC), and Karbi Anglong Women Justice Forum (KAWJF)\u2014jointly submitted a memorandum to Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. <\/span><\/h4>\n

Dr. Tuliram Ronghang and Karbi Organizations Present Memorandum to Chief Minister regarding Tapat Border Incident<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This memorandum addressed the recent Tapat border incident and other long-standing issues concerning the Assam\u2013Meghalaya border. In response, the Chief Minister assured the following: <\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"1. A permanent battalion camp will be established at Tapat to enhance border security. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2. The State Government will provide \u20b910 lakhs as ex-gratia to the family of Lt. Oriwel Timung, who tragically lost his life in the border violence. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3. The border will remain demarcated according to the Government Notification from November 17, 1951, with proper border pillars to be reinstated.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

4. Blocks 1 and 2 in West Karbi Anglong are confirmed to be part of Karbi Anglong, with no alterations to this boundary. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

5. Various development initiatives\u2014including healthcare, schools, and welfare schemes\u2014will be launched in the border areas.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

6. A job will be provided through the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council to support the affected family. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Chief Minister also announced that he will personally visit Tapat in November to assess the situation. His response was both positive and reassuring, promising increased security and development for the people of West Karbi Anglong.<\/span><\/p>\n
