Diphu <\/strong>: <\/strong>Director General of Assam Police, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta has called upon all extremist organizations of Assam who are still waging war against the nation to join the mainstream population and shun violence.<\/span><\/p>\n

While addressing a press conference at Diphu today evening he mentioned that some small armed ultra organizations active in various areas of the hills may come over ground and opt for peace parley.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mahanta categorically stated that the state Government wants peace in the society and a non violent process to end the hostility but Assam Police is always ready to take head-on with any ultra group if they desire.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mahanta is currently in an official tour of Karbi Anglong district to monitor law and order related issues. The DGP informed the media that he has verified the safety aspects of the police personals who are engaged in duty to enforce the COVID 19 norms in various quarantine facilities and contentment zones. He stated that although crime rate is less in Karbi Anglong but offense related to extremist actions are quite high in this district and the police are dealing well with the situation, he expressed satisfaction about present law and order scenario of the hill areas of Assam. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The official visit the top cope of Assam came close on the heel of a major police success in Karbi Anglong district. Police arrested three dreaded poacher out of the seven accused who were involved in the recent astounding rhino poaching incident at Agoratoli\u00a0 located at the fringe of Kaziranga national pack. So far karbi Anglong police have arrested three persons\u00a0 namely David Siama alias Samboi of Lamka Churachandipur district of Manipur, \u00a0Biki Thapa of the Sangmuthi tea estate, of\u00a0 Jakhalabandha , Nagaon district and\u00a0 Simon Lakra of Nepani , Salna Nagaon district.\u00a0The fourth namely Mang alias Mangboi Paite died in an encounter in the Dhansiri last week (Diphu police station case no 110\/ 2020).<\/span><\/p>\n

After arrest of the tree accused person, information was quizzed out from them about presence of huge quantity of arms and ammunition kept cloaked in a remote hideout. The operational force successfully disinterred the catch of armaments from the information provided by the arrested persons. Recovered arms and ammunition includes A k 81 one number, A k 56 – 2 numbers, DBBL \u00a0one number, assorted ammunitions around four hundred numbers, one live grenade\u00a0and few camp materials .
