Diphu:<\/strong> The festival is an ode to the virtues of devotion, faith and sacrifice and inspires feelings of brotherhood, compassion and unity. Along with the entire world today Muslims across Karbi Anglong offered their Salat at around 8:30 AM to mark their devotion on the auspicious occasion of Eid-al-Adha.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Salat at Diphu Masjid is led by Alhaj Maulana Gyasuddin Kasmi and at the end of the Salat he prayed in congregation to seek pardon for the deceased and all dead Muslims and for the well-being of those affected due to the floods in the state. He also prayed for peace and harmony within the country and in the world at large.<\/span><\/p>\n

He further prayed Almighty Allah to bestow upon his blessings to uplift human society and motivate people towards justice, love and affection and to bridge differences, so that everyone could live in a healthy society based on freedom, equality and brotherhood. After accomplishing the Salat, people greeted one another by hugging each other to mark unity and brotherhood. Lastly, as an obligatory act of charity, money is paid to the poor and the needy. <\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, All Assam Minorities Students’ Union, Bakaliaghat regional committee offered free drinking water to the devotees came for Eid prayers along with everyone in and around their free water distribution camp. <\/span><\/p>\n

This is indeed a noble job that the members of the committee did as the day was too hot and humid. Mustafa, the President of the Bakaliaghat regional committee said that as people from the Muslim community gathered at the Bakaliaghat Jama Masjid and decided to distribute free drinking water to mark the brotherhood among the people of Karbi Anglong.<\/span><\/p>\n

He also added that Muslims must take this day as an opportunity to visit their brothers and sisters belonging to other religions and share food and ensure that people live in harmony.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
