A<\/span>ssam government has made elaborate arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s day-long visit to Diphu and Dibrugarh on Thursday with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma monitoring the preparations in both the towns, officials said.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Modi was scheduled to address the ‘Unity, Peace and Development’ rally at Loringthepi and lay the foundation of several educational and development projects worth over Rs 500 crore.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The Prime Minister will leave for Dibrugarh where he was scheduled to dedicate the Dibrugarh Cancer Centre at the Assam Medical College Hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The Chief Minister had visited both the districts twice to monitor the preparations and directed the authorities to take all possible measures to make the Prime Minister’s visit to the state a ‘grand success’.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0On Modi’s scheduled visit to Diphu, the Chief Minister said\u00a0 that he was hopeful that ”his visit to this beautiful hill district will contribute hugely to the development of the area”.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Meanwhile, the state government has declared a local holiday tomorrow within the jurisdiction of both Karbi Anglong and Dibrugarh districts with all state government offices, educational and other institutions to remain closed.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Strict security arrangements have been made with heavy vehicles asked not to ply during the day in both the towns.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The transport department has pressed into services over five thousand buses to bring the people to the venue of the rallies.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 BJP members have reached out to the people in the far flung
