The Kaziranga National Park authorities have fixed a maximum speed limit of 40 km per hour in all animal corridors in order to ensure smooth and accident free movement of wild animals.<\/span><\/h2>\n

\"Speed \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Six animal sensor cameras have been installed in nine designated animal corridors of the Park, stretching from Rengali to Borjuri, along the National Highway 37 and these will become operational from Friday, Eastern Assam Wildlife Division’s Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Ramesh Gogoi said on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The animal sensor cameras are equipped with Automatic Number Plate Recognizing (ANPR) with radar for determination of speed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Speed \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>As per the orders of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the vehicles plying\u00a0 above the 40 KMPH wili be penalized v.ith fine.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Overspeeding vehicles in the same stretch will also be booked for\u00a0 violation of provision of\u00a0 Section 144 of Cr.P.C.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Each\u00a0 vehicle which is booked, particularly for over speeding and for killing\/injuring animals, would be fined an environmental compensation of Rs 5000 -per incident, over and above the amount to be paid for offence under Motor Vehicle Act.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 ”Under these circumstances all commuters are mandated to abide by the maximum speed limit of 40 Km\/hour in all animal corridors of Kaziranga National Park in the interest of the safety of wild animals”, Gogoi added.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
