\n\u00a0 \u00a0 The youths from the North East must take advantage of the ‘Agnipath’ scheme which is a game changing employment opportunity in the armed forces, General Officer in Command (GOC) 51 Sub Area Major General Vikas Saini said here on Friday.<\/span><\/h2>\n

\"advantage\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span>The Agnipath scheme aims to bring paradigm changes in the human resource management of the Indian Army and prepare it as a future ready fighting force capable of meeting multiple challenges across the whole spectrum of conflicts, the GOC told mediapersons here.<\/span>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The scheme will give the armed forces a ”tech savvy and youthful profile which is the need of the hour”, he added.<\/span>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Saini\u00a0hoped that more and more youths from the North East will take advantage of the scheme and join armed forces.\u00a0<\/span>
\n\"GOC\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>He urged the mediapersons to spread awareness about the scheme so that the information reaches to the grassroot level.<\/span>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 The Agniveers will be given an attractive\u00a0customised monthly package and on completion of the engagement period of four years, they\u00a0will\u00a0be paid a one time \u2018Seva Nidhi\u2019 package of approximately Rs 11.71 lakhs.\u00a0 The package will comprise their contribution, including accrued interest thereon and matching contribution from the government equal to the accumulated amount of their contribution including interest which\u00a0will be exempt from Income Tax, Saini pointed out.<\/span>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The\u00a0Agniveers\u00a0will be enrolled in the Forces under respective Service Acts for a period of four years.\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 Upon the completion of four years of service, based on organisational requirement and policies promulgated by the Armed Forces from time-to-time,\u00a0Agniveers\u00a0will be offered an opportunity to apply for permanent enrolment in the armed forces.\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0These applications will be considered in a centralised manner based on objective criteria, including performance during their four-year engagement period and up to 25 per cent of each batch\u00a0will be enrolled in regular cadres of the armed forces, Saini added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
