\u00a0The flood condition in Assam improved on Sunday although five more persons lost their lives and over 18.35 lakh people are still reeling under the deluge across 23 districts, an official style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">According to the daily flood report of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), two persons lost their lives in Nagaon and one each drowned at different places of Karimganj, Lakhimpur and Sivasagar districts during the day.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0With this, the total number of persons losing their lives in this year&#8217;s flood and landslides has gone up to 179 across the state.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone 18,35,500 people are hit due to floods in Bajali, Barpeta, Biswanath, Cachar, Chirang, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Hailakandi, Hojai, Kamrup, Kamrup Metropolitan, Karimganj, Lakhimpur, Morigaon, Nagaon, Nalbari, Sivasagar, Sonitpur, Tamulpur, Tinsukia and Udalguri districts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Cachar is the worst hit with nearly 10.2 lakh people suffering, followed by Nagaon with almost 3.76 lakh persons and Morigaon with around 1.76 lakh people.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Urban flood has hit several places in Dibrugarh districts, the bulletin said.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Till Saturday, nearly 22.18 lakh people were affected in the deluge across 24 districts in the state.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0At present, 1,618 villages are under water and 47,198.87 hectares of crop areas have been damaged across Assam, ASDMA said.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0It further said authorities are running 413 relief camps and distribution centres in 20 districts, where 2,78,060 people, including 65,757 children, are taking shelter.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The authorities have distributed 685.26 quintals of rice, dal and salt, 2,634.44 litres of mustard oil, 4,793.92 quintals of cattle feed and other flood relief items.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Massive erosions have been witnessed in Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Chirang, Dibrugarh, Morigaon, Sivasagar, Sonitpur, Tinsukia and Udalguri districts.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Embankments, roads, bridges and other infrastructure have been damaged by flood waters in Bongaigaon, Karimganj, Nagaon, Biswanath, Kamrup, Morigaon, Nalbari, Udalguri, Bajali, Cachar, Hailakandi, Hojai, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur and Majuli.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0A total of 5,90,949 domestic animals and poultry have been affected in the deluge across 12 districts, ASDMA said.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Quoting the Central Water Commission bulletin, the ASDMA said that the mighty Brahmaputra at Dhubri town, Tezpur and Neamatighat, while it tributaries Kopili at Dharamtul, Disang at Nanglamuraghat and Burhidihing at Chenimari (Khowang) are flowing above danger
