\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0NDA Presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu had arrived here last week to campaign in the North Eastern states and had met the Assam MPs and legislators of the ruling BJP and its allies the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and the United Peoples’ Party Liberal (UPPL) \u00a0here on July 7 to seek support for the polls.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0In the 126-member state legislative assembly, the ruling NDA has 79 seats with 63 from BJP, nine from AGP and seven from the UPPL.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal said that his party will also support Murmu.<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Among the opposition parties,\u00a0 there are 27 MLAs from the Congress, three from BPF and one from the CPI(M) while there is an independent candidate.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The BPF has lent its support to the government in the assembly but is yet to enter into a political alliance formally and has extended support to Murmu.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0In the Lok Sabha, Assam has nine BJP MPs, three from the Congress, an independent and one from AIUDF.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0In the
