A<\/span><\/strong>mid attempts by Opposition leaders to rally in support of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi<\/span> <\/a>following his disqualification as a member of the Lok Sabha on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the BJP has transformed the \u2018Politics of Perception\u2019 in the country into the \u2018Politics of Performance\u2019, adding that the country had been mired in \u201cdirty politics\u201d for years. Rahul\u2019s disqualification from the Lower House followed his conviction in a 2019 criminal defamation case.<\/span><\/p>\n

Addressing the Vijaya Sankalp Yatre Maha Sangama at Devanagere in poll-bound Karnataka on Saturday, he said, \u201cOur country had been mired in dirty politics for years. What prevailed in the country then was the politics of allegation and blame game. But since coming to power, the BJP has transformed the \u2018Politics of Perception\u2019 in the country into the \u2018Politics of Performance\u2019.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Taking the attack to the Opposition in the southern state, which the BJP considers as its gateway to the South, PM Modi said, \u201cKarnataka saw and suffered opportunistic and selfish governments for a long time, which affected its progress. That is why a stable government of the BJP is the need of the hour, in the interest of the state\u2019s development.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cKarnataka has made up its mind to bring back the double-engine government in the state. The BJP has put development on fast-track. Therefore, the need of the hour is for the BJP to return to power in the interest of taking Karnataka to development and prosperity,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Launching a scathing attack on the Congress, he said, \u201cBJP wants to make Karnataka the driving force for a developed India. However, the Congress sees Karnataka as merely a means to fill the pockets of some of its leaders.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCongress says \u2018Modi Teri Qabr Khudegi\u2019 but they don\u2019t know that the people of Karnataka have a dream, which is \u2018Modi Tera Kamal Khilega,\u201d the PM added.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said, \u201cOur (Karnataka) government has worked tirelessly for every section of society. We have ensured that farmers get adequate MSP for their crops. We have launched schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and PM Fasal Bima Yojana to provide financial security and insurance cover to our farmers. We have also implemented schemes like Ayushman Bharat and Ujjwala Yojana to provide health care and cooking gas to every household.
