In a shocking incident that has rattled the upscale neighborhood of Hauz Khas in south Delhi, a 14-year-old boy was subjected to a degrading and violent act by three of his acquaintances. The teenager was reportedly forced to engage in humiliating and non-consensual acts while being filmed, with the recording subsequently sent to his mother. This distressing event has cast a spotlight on child safety and the urgent need for societal and legal reforms.
According to a report by the news agency , the harrowing incident occurred on a Sunday evening as the young boy was making his way home after spending time at Central Park in Connaught Place. At around 6:30 pm, he was coerced by three other boys, aged between 12 and 14, to accompany them to a secluded spot. It was there that one of the assailants threatened him with a vegetable knife and forced him to perform acts of a sexual nature. The entire ordeal was recorded on a mobile phone.
The video, which was later posted on Instagram, depicted the victim being made to stoop at knifepoint as the perpetrators demanded that he lick their shoes and then compelled him to carry out what law enforcement described as “unnatural sex.” The police, as quoted by news agency, confirmed the authenticity of the disturbing footage.
The accused did not stop at physical and sexual abuse; they also verbally threatened the boy, warning him of severe repercussions if he disclosed the incident to anyone. This intimidation left the victim in a state of fear, preventing him from confiding in his parents or seeking help immediately after the assault.
The situation came to light only after one of the attackers sent the incriminating video to the victim’s mother. Horrified by what she witnessed, she promptly reported the matter to the local police authorities on the same day.
In response to the mother’s report, law enforcement officials took swift action. The victim was taken for a medical examination to assess his physical state following the assault and was also provided with counseling support to help him cope with the psychological trauma of the event. Based on the teenager’s statement, the police registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including those pertaining to unnatural sex and criminal intimidation, as well as under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at the Hauz Khas Police Station.
The three young perpetrators were apprehended by the police and are currently undergoing questioning. The authorities are determined to piece together the events that led to this heinous crime, ensuring that justice is served and similar incidents are prevented in the future.
