
The anti-drug operation by Cachar Police continues. According to Cachar Superintendent of Police, Numal Mahatta, on Sunday, acting on a credible tip-off, Cachar Police conducted a special operation against drug trafficking in the Katakhal area under Dholai Police Station on Saturday evening. They apprehended an individual and recovered 30,000 yaba tablets from his possession.

The police superintendent stated that Abdul Alim Laskar (42), a supplier, has been arrested during the operation. The arrested individual is from Saptagram, Dhalai. The value of these illegal narcotic tablets in the black market is estimated to be around 9 crore rupees. In connection with this case, a scooter used for illegal transportation has been seized. These narcotic Yaba tablets were illegally brought from Aizawl, Mizoram.
The police superintendent has informed that further investigation is ongoing. On the other hand, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has praised this operation by the Cachar police and expressed his gratitude through social media.
