In a coordinated operation, a team comprising Manipur Police, the Forest Department, and Assam Rifles successfully destroyed approximately 5.7 acres of poppy plantation in the Thinghangjang area of Churachandpur District. This effort is part of ongoing area domination missions conducted by central and state forces targeting illicit activities in the Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts.

Simultaneously, in a separate operation in the Khunkho Kuki jungle of Kangpokpi district, authorities recovered a cache of firearms, including a .22 rifle, a .303 rifle, 49 live rounds of .22 ammunition, and a magazine. Although no suspects were apprehended, the recovered items have been secured by the police.
The sustained crackdown on illegal poppy cultivation by the Assam Rifles has yielded significant results, with 354 acres of poppy fields destroyed this year across Manipur, concentrating on the districts of Ukhrul, Churachandpur, and Chandel.
These operations highlight the combined efforts of law enforcement and military forces in addressing and dismantling narcotics-related activities in the region, reflecting the commitment to restoring peace and order across Manipur.
