Diphu : Proud moment for Karbi Anglong as the ideal son Paban Terang has been promoted and posted to the prestigious post of Chief Engineer (EAP) Public Works Roads Department (PWRD), World bank funding project by the Govt of Assam .
He has taken the charge for the post on 31st December, 2019. The people of Karbi Anglong feel happy to hear such a good news for his achievement as no one has achieved such a high level post from the Karbi Community in Public Works Department. Paban Terang son of Lt.Baliram Terang and Lt. Pratibha Rongpipi.
He passed HSLC with good Marks from the Diphu Government Boys High School and got admitted in the prestigious Cotton College, Guwahati and passed out his Higher Secondary (Science) , soon after that he passed out obtaining first class in Bachelor of Engineering (BE) Civil from NIT, Karnataka in the year 1990.He has first joined his service as assistant engineer in Haflong PWD(R&B, circle) in the year 1992.
He has also served as AEE,PWD (Rds), EE, PWD Rds. Mahar Division during the period from 1992-2002Â and has supervised various roads and bridge projects in Dima Hasao District. He has also served as AEE, PWD(NH) Diphu Sub- Division from 2002-2004.
From the year 2004-2006 he has served as AEE, PWD Dhubri AACP Sub Division and supervised various roads and bridge projects which were funded by the World Bank. From the year 2006-2015 he has served as AEE,PWD Hamren sub divison, EE,PWD Hamren Division, EE,PWD Baithalangso Division , EE,PWD,Diphu Rds. Division, SE, Diphu &Â Hamren circle.
He has also served as the Additional Chief Engineer, PWD Hills, Diphu from the year 2018 up to March 2019.  In the mean time he has been promoted to the Rank of Chief Engineer as OSD,PWD (B & NH) Department Dispur from April 2019-December 2019. During the period of 2018-19 as Additional Chief Engineer in Diphu, he has an immense contribution towards the adornment of the Diphu town, a project that was taken up by the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) and Govt Assam.
