Putting an end to all speculations, the Asom Gana Parishad will announce the names of the nominated candidates for two constituencies for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Sunday night. AGP leader Birendra Prasad Baishya declared that the final process of candidate selection will be concluded on Sunday night. According to the senior AGP leader, seven candidates from Barpeta and five from Dhubri have applied for the Lok Sabha constituencies in question.
It should be noted that in these two constituencies, two leaders are at the top of the candidacy list. In Barpeta, Phani Bhushan Choudhury, and in Dhubri, the AGP leader Javed Islam are the names on which the AGP leadership is expected to give their final approval, as per ongoing discussions. Following intensified discussions, Phani Bhushan Choudhury has also hinted at not leaving the Bongaigaon assembly constituency.
