A truck filled with smuggled Burmese betel nuts has been seized in Kaziranga’s Bagori. Acting on a tip-off, Bagori police conducted an operation at night and seized a 16-wheeler truck with the registration number UP 82AT 9208.
The truck contains 350 bags of Burmese betel nuts. The Burmese betel nuts were being transported from Dimapur to Madhya Pradesh. The police have arrested the truck driver, Prem Kishore Singh, and the manager, Lal Singh. Both of them are from Uttar Pradesh.
However, questions have been raised about how the truck filled with Burmese supari managed to pass several police stations and travel from Dimapur to Kaziranga. Nonetheless, various organizations in Kaziranga have thanked the Bagori police for seizing the truck.
