In a significant breakthrough, the police in Diphu successfully apprehended two suspects implicated in the shocking abduction of a nine-year-old girl from the Rengmai Colony in Dimapur. This incident, which took place on July 3rd, has alarmed local residents and shed light on the grave issue of child trafficking in the region.

The suspects, identified as Nitu Nath and Mamata Begum (alias Pratima Rajbanshi) from Nagaon district, were reportedly attempting to sell the young girl in Arunachal Pradesh. This revelation has heightened concerns about the safety of children in the area, prompting a swift response from law enforcement officials.
Authorities have indicated that the suspects are responsible for luring the child under false pretenses before abducting her. The tactical operation that led to their arrest was executed by the village protection team in conjunction with the police, who have made safeguarding children a top priority in recent months.
