
Illegal smuggling of contraband materials continues along the Assam-Nagaland border. Even with the police’s vigilant presence in the area, attempts to transport these items regularly end up in police seizures.

According to information received from the police, based on a tip-off on Friday night around , a search was conducted on a jeep with the license plate NL 01 CA 4669, which was headed towards Khokhati from Dimapur. During the search, 37.64 grams of suspected heroin was recovered from three boxes of soap.
The driver, along with two others—Chingai, R. K. Williamson, and Chizthow Bachena—were arrested, and the police are continuing to interrogate them for further information. The traffickers are residents of Dimapur. It has been discovered that the smugglers concealed the heroin strategically on their bodies for transport. The Bokajan police circle officer, along with impartial witnesses, has reportedly seized the heroin and is continuing the investigation.
