In Diphu, the Karbi Anglong Police incinerated seized narcotics. These included heroin 4,884.91 grams; ganja 800.240 kg; morphine 32.19609 kg, poppy straw 9.49058 kg, 58,859 psychotropic tablets, and 160 bottles of cough syrup. The market value of the destroyed drugs is Rs 48,34,69,059.
The contraband was seized from the Khatkhati, Diphu, Borpathar, and Dillai police stations in the district. With the approval of the Drugs Disposal Committee, the drugs were burned at a brick kiln on the Diphu-Manja road, Karbi Anglong Police Additional Superintendent (Crime) Partha Pratim Saikia informed. He also noted that police operations against drugs are continuing.
