Bokajan: As per SC guideline, though police administration of Karbi Anglong putting all possible efforts to stop illegal mining in and around KNP, in spite of some miscreants are still operating the illegal activity. Tuesday two person were arrested who involved such kind of illegal activity by a joint operation.
As per police source, acting on a tip off SDPO, Bokajan along with OC of Dolamara and Rongbongwe PS and forest staff suddenly carried out raid and seized one stone crusher motor, a truck bearing Registration No. AS 09 A 4102, a motor cycle bearing Registration No. AS 05 F 1181, two 24 volt batteries and 2 plastic drums used to keep fuel from Maa Phuleswary Stone Crusher, located at Khailung Terang village of Geleki area under Dolamara PS.
The men arrested are Munin Borah, (father’s name Dimbeswar Borah) of Gormur, Bokakhat. Another is Jugal Boruah, son of Padum Baruah(late), of Bishnupur, Bokakhat. Police also registered a case in Dolamara PS against them.
