A delegation from the Bangla Sanskriti Bala, Agartala Sangsad has submitted a memorandum to Bimbisar Bhattacharya, Director of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, calling for measures to preserve Bengali and local folk culture during the Durga Puja festival. The delegation underscored the importance of curbing DJ culture in clubs and social organizations to maintain cultural integrity while fostering national unity.

The ICA Department of Tripura annually organizes competitions among Agartala city clubs during the ‘Sharadiya Utsav’ for mandap and idol decorations, environmental upkeep, lighting, and more. The winners are acknowledged during the “Dashmi Yatra” carnival, adding vibrancy and promoting societal messages during the festival.
Nirmal Kumar Deb, President of Agartala Sangsad of Bangla Sanskriti Bala, led the delegation and outlined the proposals for this year’s festivities. Bhattacharya, in response, welcomed the suggestions and assured action in accordance with government decisions. Similar memorandums are anticipated to be submitted to the Agartala Municipal Corporation, State Police, Women’s Commission, and private organizations participating in ‘Sharadiya Utsav’ celebrations.
The initiative aims to enhance cultural heritage and community participation during the festive season. President Nirmal Kumar Deb and Secretary Anindita Roy elaborated on these efforts during a press conference held at the Agartala Press Club on Monday evening.
