A shocking murder has been reported in Margherita, implicating the deceased’s wife and daughter as the culprits. The two suspects, Anu Gogoi and Priyanka Gogoi, have been apprehended by Margherita police and are currently in jail custody.
Grieving Wife and Daughter Arrested for Allegedly Killing Beloved Husband:
The incident occurred on August 12 under the jurisdiction of Margherita police station. Tensions escalated in the residence of the deceased, identified as Bopai Gogoi, culminating in a violent altercation. Subsequently, Anu and Priyanka transported Bopai to Dibrugarh via ambulance, informing other family members that he had died en route to the hospital.
Following a post-mortem examination in Dibrugarh and Bopai’s subsequent cremation, Anu and Priyanka disappeared from public view, raising suspicions among other family members who then filed a First Information Report (FIR) at Margherita police station. Acting on the FIR, police successfully located and arrested the duo from Khowang.
Upon their arrest, local women and family members rallied, demanding that the accused be handed over to them. Instead, the police conducted a medical examination of the suspects at Margherita Civil Hospital, presented them before a judicial court, and ultimately placed them in a Tinsukia jail.
It has been alleged that Anu Gogoi has a history of similar malevolent actions, possibly driven by motives related to land and property. This background has led family members to strongly suspect that Anu, along with her daughter Priyanka, orchestrated Bopai’s murder.
Authorities continue to investigate the case, seeking to unravel the motives and exact circumstances surrounding this heinous crime.
