The Assam Government has surpassed its commitment to create 100,000 jobs, reaching a total of 125,030 recruitments by September 26, 2024. This achievement has been attributed to the state’s dedication to transparent, merit-based recruitment, which aims to open up new opportunities for the youth.
A ceremonial distribution of appointment letters is scheduled for October 7, 2024, at 10:30 AM, at the GMCH Auditorium in Bhangagarh. The event will be attended by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, the Minister of Education, and other dignitaries. On this occasion, 385 additional candidates will receive their appointment letters.
The newly recruited batch includes diverse positions across several departments. Among them are 136 lecturers and 47 senior instructors for polytechnics and engineering colleges, along with 78 assistant professors. The Health and Family Welfare Department will also welcome 101 new Medical Officers (Ayur).
This development reflects the government’s focus on enhancing job opportunities while ensuring a fair recruitment process. The inclusion of various sectors in this recruitment drive highlights efforts to strengthen multiple areas within the state’s public service framework.
This initiative echoes the government’s broader economic and social objectives, positioning Assam as a proactive state in job creation and talent utilization. In related news, the Assam Congress has raised concerns regarding the Jal Jeevan Mission, calling for a CBI inquiry due to quality issues that have led to a temporary suspension of the project.
