A team from the Central Guwahati Police District at Satgaon Police Station has effectively dismantled a gang of house burglars following a thorough investigation into a burglary and theft incident at a shop in Baghorbori. The mastermind behind the thefts, identified through meticulous police work, included five individuals: Abu Bakkar Siddiqui alias Rahul (20) from Satgaon, Nitul Ali (26) from Six Mile, Rahul Ahmed (21) from Sarthebari, Najir Ali (22) from Dispur, and Md Sono Ali (38) from Barpeta. These arrests signify a breakthrough in curbing theft activities in the region.
The gang reportedly rented a vehicle from a rental agency to execute their crimes, which has since been seized as part of the ongoing investigation. This strategic move by the police not only led to the detention of the criminals but also facilitated the recovery of two printers, among other stolen items, which have been confirmed as part of the loot from the Baghorbori shop.

Legal proceedings are in motion against the apprehended suspects, reinforcing the district police’s zero-tolerance stance against criminal activities. This operation underscores the commitment of the CGPD to ensure public safety, particularly emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance during the festive season when burglary attempts are more frequent.
This significant police crackdown serves as a reminder and a warning, with the authorities encouraging residents to remain alert to potential criminal activities. The successful dismantling of this gang reflects positively on law enforcement’s dedication to protecting the community and maintaining peace and security across the district.
