In a resolute crackdown on Child Labour, authorities in Guwahati rescued three minors, aged between 12 and 13, from the areas of Santipur and Jalukbari on Friday, January 10. This operation was spearheaded by the District Task Force for Child Labour along with the Bharalumukh and Jalukbari police stations, aiming to ensure the safety and welfare of vulnerable children.
These children, found working in detrimental conditions that deprived them of education and a healthy environment, have been relocated to a shelter home under the supervision of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) in Kamrup Metro. The Assam Centre for Rural Development emphasized the importance of removing the children from such conditions, noting the critical need for their reintegration into a safe and educational setting.
According to authorities, the children will appear before the CWC on Monday, where plans will be put in place for their rehabilitation. This will include measures to secure their access to proper education and care, a crucial step in fostering their development and ensuring a brighter future.
