In a significant development that underscores the relentless efforts of Police, the Bokajan sub-division has witnessed a major drug seizure during a routine police check. The operation, carried out earlier today, led to the recovery of a substantial amount of illegal narcotics, revealing a well-organized smuggling network operating between Manipur and Guwahati.

The operation was launched based on credible intelligence suggesting the suspicious movement of a truck along the NH 3049 route. Acting swiftly, police authorities set up a vigilant naka (checkpoint) near Khatkhati. During the routine inspection, they intercepted a truck bearing registration number P B 10 H 3049, which had been flagged for its suspicious appearance.
On inspection, the police found the truck meticulously concealed. The vehicle’s hidden compartment was carefully arranged to evade detection. The officers dismantled the equipment attached to the truck’s fuel tank and uncovered a secret chamber inside, meticulously concealed with black plastic sheets and other materials. Inside, law enforcement officials seized a massive haul of narcotics—specifically, 14 kilograms and 23 grams of illegal opium.
The raid also resulted in the apprehension of two key suspects, identified as Jatindar Singh and Mandip Singh, both known to be suppliers involved in narcotics trafficking from Punjab. Their arrest marks a significant breakthrough, as the police believe their detention can lead to further unraveling of the entire drug smuggling operation.
