
In a significant operation aimed at combating drug trafficking, the Bokajan police successfully seized a staggering 2,977.07 grams of morphine during a raid conducted on the night of May 20. The operation unfolded around 10:30 PM, following a confidential tip-off that prompted law enforcement to act swiftly and decisively.

According to sources from the Bokajan police, the operation centered around a truck with the registration number NL 07 AE 2238. Officers discovered the illicit substance meticulously packed into six separate packets. This seizure is not just a routine drug bust, it reflects the escalating battle against drug trafficking in the region.
Leading the operation was Sub-Division Police Officer Rustamraj Brahma, who was accompanied by the additional police superintendent (Crime)and the officer in charge of the Bokajan police station. Their coordinated efforts resulted in the successful confiscation of the morphine, which is estimated to have a market value of approximately ₹1.5 crore. This amount underscores the gravity of the situation and the financial implications of drug trafficking in the area.
In connection with this significant seizure, the police have arrested two individuals, Kumar Gurung, the driver of the truck, and Chumer Jamir, apprehended at a supermarket in Dimapur. Both suspects were taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation linked to cases B/119 and QAT/155. Authorities are actively pursuing further leads to dismantle the broader network involved in this drug trade.
