Diphu : At a time when Government and municipal authorities have been persistently carrying out mass cleaning drive and sanitization to tackle with deadly disease, huge pile of garbage in front of the District Transportation Officer, D.C Clooney and PanBari locality have made the lives of local residents and commuters desolate.
While social organizations and public leaders are insisting for maintaining compulsory hygiene and area sanitization, practical circumstances in certain places of Diphu town gives a dissimilar depiction of negligence and inattention. Heap of garbage stockpiled on road side just across the office of the District Transportation Officer have remained unattended since long which has become a cause of concern for all now. Soil erosion and infrequent strong rainfall these days, the panorama is becoming increasingly grimy.
Conscious people of the locality have blamed Diphu Municipal Board for its negligence and allowing the garbage heap to grow. “Continuing lockdown has restricted works of maximum departments but the sanitation work is totally exempted from the restriction list; still garbage heap in several locations of the town have remained unattended” said one of the local resident.
