Reliance Industries Limited’s Managing Director Mukesh Ambani and his son Anant Ambani have donated Rs 25 crore to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the devastating floods that has affected the state.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked the business tycoon for standing with the people at this crucial juncture.
”My deepest gratitude to Shri Mukesh Ambani and Shri Anant Ambani for standing with the people of Assam at this crucial juncture by donating Rs 25 crore to CM Relief Fund”, Sarma tweeted.
”We appreciate this kind gesture.This will go a long way in augmenting our flood relief measures”, he added.
Several prominent personalities, including Tibetan spiritual leader The Dalai Lama, and organisations have donated to the CM’s Relief Fund in the wake of the devastating floods in the state.
The Dalai Lama donated Rs 10 lakh from his Gaden Phodrang Trust to support the agencies engaged in rescue and relief operations.

T-series owner and music producer Bhushan Kumar had contributed Rs 11 lakh while renowned singer Sonu Nigam donated Rs five lakh to the CMRF.
Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor and Director Rohit Shetty had contributed Rs five lakh each to the CMRF last week.
Assam is reeling under devastating flood affecting a population of nearly 46 lakh and claiming 108 lives so far this year.
