Heroin, worth over Rs one crore, has been seized from a woman travelling in a train in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Tuesday, police said
The railway police, during routine check in the Lumding-Tinsukia passenger train near Bokajan area, found 232 grams of heroin, hidden inside 20 soap boxes in the possession of a woman travelling in the compartment for the disabled.
The drugs were seized by the police and the 55-year old woman, a resident of a tea garden of Tinsukia, has been arrested.
The police claimed that the seized drug was worth over Rs one crore in the international market.
