India firmly disagreed with China’s 2023 “standard map” that claims Indian land on Tuesday. Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, voiced India’s discontent with the map through diplomatic channels.

Furthermore, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar censured China for launching the official “standard map”, referring to it as an outdated practice and noting that merely placing other countries’ territories on a map does not lead to any changes. The map, which was released on August 28, shows Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin as part of Chinese territory, as well as Taiwan and the contentious South China Sea.
