At least nine people, with more possible, were killed in an explosion that occurred on Sunday at an explosives manufacturing company in Nagpur district, Maharashtra.
At 9 am this morning, an explosion occurred in a cast booster unit of Solar Industries in Bazaargaon, Nagpur. Emergency vehicles were stationed at the entrance of the Solar Industries factory.

According to sources, the explosion has caused at least nine fatalities and is estimated to have injured between 10 and 15 people. It was reported that the process of packing explosives was underway when the blast occurred.
Ashish Srivastava, Senior General Manager at Solar Explosive Company, reported that the incident occurred around 9 am, resulting in nine fatalities. He went on to say, âAll the workmen have been evacuated, and the authorities are investigating the incident.â
Reports say the company where the blast happened is involved in supplying explosives and other defence materials to the governmentâs defence department. Aarti Sahare’s father informed reporters that he received news of her death at 9.30 am and is still awaiting more details.
Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, was horrified by the explosion that resulted in nine fatalities and declared an ex-gratia of Rs 5 to the families of those who lost their lives.

He paid his respects to them and their families, and said that the state government stands with them in this difficult time. Solar Industries manufactures drones and explosives for the defence forces.
The Collector and Superintendent of Police of Nagpur are in close communication, with the IG, SP, and Collector present at the scene. Chief Minister Eknathrao Shinde has approved a relief of Rs 5 lakh to be given to the families of those who passed away due to the incident.
