Denis Pushilin, the leader of the Donetsk region appointed by Russia, announced on Sunday that Ukrainian troops bombarded the city of Donetsk, which is under Russian control, resulting in the death of 13 individuals and injuries to another 10. As of now, there has been no response from Ukrainian authorities regarding the event.

Alexei Kulemzin, the mayor appointed by the Russians, stated that Ukrainian troops targeted a crowded district that houses a marketplace and various stores. Pushilin mentioned that rescue teams were active at the location and experts were in the process of gathering pieces of the munitions involved in the assault.
Donetsk is among the four territories in Ukraine that Russia declared it had incorporated the previous year, an action widely denounced as unlawful by the majority of nations at the United Nations General Assembly. Russia does not have complete control over any of these four areas.
