In a pre-dawn operation around 4:30 am on July 9, a combined task force comprising CRPF units (32, 69, 86, 109, 143, GC-QAT), Assam Rifles, and state police apprehended three suspected Kuki militants in Hengjol village, under the jurisdiction of New Keithelmanbi Police Station in Kangpokpi district. The operation led to the confiscation of three AK series rifles.

During the raid, a crowd of women gathered at the scene, prompting security forces to deploy tear gas to disperse them. Unfortunately, this resulted in injuries to two or three women. The situation remains tense as authorities continue their investigations and efforts to stabilize the area.
In a broader effort to enhance security, a total of 125 checkpoints have been established throughout Manipur, covering both hill and valley districts. These heightened measures have led to the detention of 84 individuals for various infractions.
Security forces are conducting thorough search operations and area domination exercises in vulnerable and fringe areas across the hill and valley regions. These efforts are part of ongoing initiatives to uphold law and order in the state.
