In a poignant ceremony held at Diphu, the All Party Hills Leaders Conference (APHLC) honored the victims of the Charchim-Prisek massacre, a tragic event that continues to cast a long shadow over the region. With candles lit near the Karbi traditional Bonkrok close to Diphu Station, the gathering was a somber tribute to those who lost their lives, reflecting the community’s ongoing struggle for justice and accountability
Led by the determined J.I. Kathar, the APHLC’s actions not only commemorated the victims but also highlighted pressing concerns surrounding the unresolved aspects of this grim chapter.

The massacre, which claimed numerous lives, remains a deeply sensitive issue marked by allegations and unresolved questions. J.I. Kathar, at the forefront of this remembrance, voiced his concerns over the lack of arrests and the absence of a public report on the incident. His statements have sparked discussions on the potential involvement of higher authorities in this tragedy, suggesting a chilling possibility of government involvement.
According to Kathar, the lack of transparency and accountability in handling the massacre raises suspicions about a deliberate attempt to create discord among tribal communities. He emphasized that this is not merely a conflict between the Karbi and Dimasa communities but suspects a broader conspiracy aimed at undermining their unified movement for an Autonomous state.
