
A family of five from Dibrugarh, Assam, met with a severe accident on Saturday afternoon when their vehicle careened 50 feet into a gorge on NH-313 near Anini, Arunachal Pradesh. The incident happened as they were heading home from a trip to Anini. The injured have been identified as Hitendranath Burhagohain, his wife Rekha, their sons Bedabrata and Debabrata Burhagohain, and daughter-in-law Pramila Singh, whose condition is reported to be extremely critical.

An Arunachal Pradesh official, part of the rescue team, mentioned that the accident happened because the vehicle lost control on a perilous section of the highway. The challenging terrain has further complicated rescue and medical efforts. Local police have commenced an investigation to ascertain the exact cause behind the tragic fall.
Authorities have urged travelers, including both tourists and residents, to exercise utmost caution while navigating these roads, especially during winter when road conditions and visibility can be unpredictable and hazardous.
