The Gauhati High Court has granted interim anticipatory bail to YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, following an FIR filed by Guwahati Police accusing him of promoting obscenity during an online show called “India’s Got Latent.” In its directive, the court instructed Chanchlani to present himself to the investigating officer within 10 days.

The case, registered by the Guwahati Crime Branch, stems from allegations made by Alok Boruah of Nayanpur against Chanchlani and other social influencers, including Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija, Ranveer Allahbadia, and Samay Raina. Charged under several sections of the BNS, IT Act, Cinematograph Act, and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, the matter is currently under investigation.
On the same day, the Supreme Court extended interim protection from arrest to another YouTuber, Ranveer Allahbadia, in related obscenity cases filed in Mumbai, Guwahati, and Jaipur.
