Diphu April 26: Bringing more relief to the lockdown suffering citizens, the Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday granted permission for opening of shops in the green zones areas.
This however, is yet to be announced at the State and District level before the central notification comes into effect.The Central Home Ministry declared relaxation for shops in residential complexes and market complexes, except shops in multi-brand and single brand malls, outside the limits of Municipal Corporations and Municipalities and also for neighborhood shops and unconnected shops to open its business service.
All shops will function with 50% strength of workers, putting on masks and maintaining full social distancing norms as mandatory condition. However, this order is applicable only for the Green Zones and not for the hotspot and containment zones.
The State Government and Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council have agreed in principle in regard to the Central Government’s directive. “Movement of vehicular traffic within green zone in case of dire necessity is worthwhile but inter zonal operation i.e.
from green to red or red to green zone may prove very hazardous and fetch disaster for the non-contaminated people of this district, I like to request the authority to consider the issue seriously”.
