Indian Army Unit organised distribution of essential rations and conducted an awareness lecture at Langtuk Rongpi vill , PS Rongmongve, East Karbi Anglong on 14 May.Essential rations (Rice, Atta, Sugar & Dal amounting to approx 70 kgs) were provisioned to the underprivileged of the remote village as part of this humanitarian gesture.
The nature of the spread of COVID 19 and preventive measures were conveyed to the villagers. The initiative recieved great appreciation from the underprivileged. Army expressed its commitment to provide more assistance amid the lockdown in near future to places which are affected by the disruption of any form of transport. Assistance to the locals in desperate times and need for a united stand in fight against COVID-19 is the motive behind the Initiative and Indian Army takes pride in being part of this.
